About Us
Atlanta New Century School (ANCS) is an inclusive, globally-focused elementary school featuring experiential learning opportunites in the heart of downtown Atlanta.
We accomplish this through a unique blend of program elements and best practices from schools throughout the United States. We elicit high levels of achievement, while fostering character development.

Mission
We inspire self-motivated, lifelong learners to express their creativity, intelligence and value through a balanced, inquiry-based curriculum that will prepare them for success in our progressive and diverse society.
About Atlanta New Century School The Atlanta New Century School is a not-for-profit, academically challenging learning institution located in downtown Atlanta. ANCS
serves families with children from pre-K through 6th grade.
ANCS fosters its students’ development of intellect and
character, in part, by fully incorporating the cultural and
educational resources of the city. Our school is fully
accredited and offers core academic programs that position our
alumni for success in the middle school and high school
environments, including competitive entry into selective
college preparatory programs.
In preparing students for life in this new century, ANCS believes that students need to learn how to be independent thinkers, problem solvers, decision-makers, effective communicators, as well as how to be appreciative of the opinions of others. These skills help ANCS students capitalize on strengths, be civil minded, and thrive in an ever changing, technologically progressive, and diverse society. These emphases have lead the Accrediting Association for Independent Study (AAAIS) to select ANCS as one of the top private schools in the Atlanta area, writing: ANCS is “ The best education money can buy.”
We encourage interested families to find out more about ANCS by reviewing our website, by talking to parents involved at the school, by visiting, and by asking questions.
Three Principles
One, we recognize no two students are alike. Therefore, our teachers seek to honor the differences presented by individual learning styles. In one classroom, you will find the teacher reaching out to students using a variety of teaching methodologies.
Two, ANCS recognizes that, for students to truly understand how the concepts taught in school relate to the larger community, they must be encouraged to test those concepts outside the classroom. Therefore, we regularly teach externally: Our teachers and students fully explore and test the concepts taught in the classroom at downtown libraries, museums, theaters, parks and conservatories. Fieldtrips are an integral part of the curriculum and you will find that some classes may have as many as five fieldtrips in one academic month.
Three, ANCS promotes strong parental involvement. It is a fact that without strong parental involvement, students seldom achieve their full potential. For that reason, ANCS offers parents myriad opportunities to be involved with their children’s education. Teachers accept parental input because they understand and truly believe that parents, as the first teacher, are important partners in education.
